Not just cosmetic; in Saturday qualifying I approached T11 "too slow" trying to set up a fast 1st lap, and had a big tank-slapper coming out of the corner; ended up smacking the inside concrete wall with the left rear, bending the wheel and tweaking the suspension. It might have been fixable for the race but I hadn't gotten a single lap in and with 1 DNF and 3 incidents in 4 sessions I decided enough was enough and went home.

Happy to say the next Laguna race went much better for me--P3 overall on Saturday starting from P7; P4 on Sunday starting from P6; P2 in class both days. Most importantly I kept the new paint job and bodywork pristine--no incidents, spins or incidents more serious than a brief drive through the dirt on one occasion, through the test day and the whole weekend. I wish you had had better luck!

I hate Buttonwillow! But I could be talked into one of the other two, maybe. I did those Nationals back in 2006.

Hey Josh,

Why don't you make the drive South? Cal-Speedway in January, Willow Springs restricted regional in Feburary, and Buttonwillow in March.

I like the scheme, and strongly prefer the yellow. Much more contrast against the black and against the blue, and everyone knows yellow cars are faster.

Looks like you've got a blue drop shadow under the class letters in that one that doesn't appear in the others. I'd be inclined to drop that, I like the white on black for the numbers and letters.

Josh,

I can't tell you how sorry I was to see your car come into Impound like that. I hope you can get it sorted out soon. We're all relieved that you and JD got through it all safely.

Best,

Allen (Tech)

Yep, that lens will work if attached with something better than the supplied magnet. I've seen others use hot glue ... but racer tape in a bright color is my preferred way to signal to others that my HD camera is surprisingly cheap :)

You can get a magnetic wide angle lens for the aiptek. Search for "17mm wide angle lens" or something similar and you'll find em. Stick it on with some racer tape. Also, pad your battery with a little racer tape too, else it'll jostle loose mid-race. Ask me how I know ;)

I'm testing a new 0.38x fisheye lens (sorry, no footage on line yet). My old 0.45x rattled apart after a year, but there's some sample footage at http://vimeo.com/laz
