First, the good news.  I saw the doctor yesterday and it looks like the eye issue has cleared itself up, except for some minor scarring.  In any case, I’m cleared to race!

But now the bad news.

The entry list has been posted today and wow, it looks like the economy has really taken its toll.  Only 189 entries for a Laguna Seca race 10 days out seems VERY thin.  As it stands I’ll be all alone in ITR, since James Heth has decided he wants to go faster and has moved his S2000 to ITE in group 1, and Mike Uhlinger’s new Prelude isn’t finished yet (he’s targeting the next race weekend as I understand it for the big debut.)  Fortunately ITS still has 4 entries and at least Doug is pretty likely to make my day a challenge!  It’s slightly tempting to double-entry, I can race my car also in group 1, either in ITE or in STU.

A little over a month ago, I wrote about the new Spec Boxster class that would be racing with the San Francisco Region this year.  Yet, I don’t see any on the entry list.  Bummer.  I’d really like to see what those cars can do.
