This morning I replaced the 2007 version of the home page with the all-new 2008 version. The significant thing is what I’ll call the “final draft” of the 2008 race schedule.

It includes 10 race weekends, from February through November. Pretty full season.

Of those 10 weekends, the makeup is as follows:

  • 5 SCCA weekends, 3 NASA weekends, and 2 BMWCCA weekends
  • 6 Infineon weekends, 3 Laguna Seca weekends, and 1 Thunderhill weekend

This all adds up nicely for me. SCCA is “my club” but I would like to get some exposure to what else is out there. And Infineon is easily my favorite local track. Laguna has been ruined by the motorcycle changes and the included gravel traps — every off turns into a full-course yellow — and Thunderhill is just too far away (at 3 hours, I know I’m sounding pretty spoiled.)

I wouldn’t call this schedule cast in stone yet, as my early experiences with NASA will determine whether or not I want to do much of that anymore. Also my friend Patrick, another Coupe afficianado from SoCal, would love me to come down and do one of their races. Best one to me looks like late May at Willow Springs, but I’ll have to find a way to squeeze that in.
