All three clubs where I could race have announced their race schedules for next season (here are the links):
I will probably not run the one-and-only local BMWCCA race, in April at Laguna Seca. That’s because they require an enormous decal package to be on the car and switching over is too much work for just one race. As much as I would like to do a BMWCCA race … that requirement just kills it for me.
So, it’s SCCA and NASA. If I go with my previous plan to do all the races at Laguna Seca and Infineon, and none at Thunderhill, then the season will look like this:
Feb 9-10 Infineon NASA Mar 29-30 Infineon SCCA Apr 12-13 Infineon NASA May 3-4 Laguna Seca SCCA Aug 29-31 Infineon SCCA (Double) Oct 3-5 Laguna Seca SCCA (Double) Nov 7-9 Infineon NASA
Basically, I’d swap the three SCCA Thunderhill weekends for three NASA Infineon weekends.
I’d also be skipping a race at the end of June. SCCA has a double at Laguna the last weekend of June, and NASA has a race at Infineon on that same weekend, but we’ve got a family trip for the July 4th week and I’m really looking forward to it! Bummer about the conflict though. Bottom line is that there would be a huge break between early May and late August, racing-wise. But I’d find something to do! There are plenty of Thunderhill options.
